Passing the verification procedure

KYC

What is KYC?

KYC (Know Your Customer) is a policy used by financial institutions (including cryptocurrency exchanges) to verify identity. It requires the collection of the client’s data and the provision of documents – a passport, ID card, driver’s license.

Identity verification using a passport

  1. Hover over your avatar in the upper right corner of the screen and click on “Account Settings.”
  1. In the menu that opens, select the “KYC” item.
  1. Read the procedure for verifying your identity. Then scan the QR code with your mobile phone (to continue on your mobile device) or click the “Continue on this device” button.
  1. Review the Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Refund Policy, then check the appropriate boxes and click the “Next Step” button.
  1. The system will offer to select the country of residence and the type of document (passport). After that, take a photo of the 1st and 2nd pages of the passport, according to the screen’s instructions. Then, upload them and click the “Confirm and Continue” button.
  1. After uploading a photo of documents, you need to go through a biometric face check and take a selfie (an image using the front camera). The system will automatically request access to the smartphone’s camera or the PC / laptop webcam. Next, you’ll need to look into the camera and turn your head, thereby filling the stripes around the screen. Make sure the room has enough light and your face is visible on the screen! When all the strips are filled, a notification about the test results will be displayed on the screen. In some cases, it’s required to pass the biometric verification again.
  1. The next step is to upload a photo of the front side of a bank card. The card must be issued by the bank of the country where you live. The cardholder’s name must match the user’s name. All data and corners of the bank card must be visible. If you want to link an unnamed card (or a card without a number) to your account, contact support and provide a recent statement by the issuing bank.

Then, all you need is to wait while the system checks your data. You’ll get the notification with the results of the check by email.
